Lei Lei: ???
If you weren't going to agree, why say yes earlier?!
Are you messing with me?!
Lei Lei's forehead broke out in veins of frustration, his shoulders trembling, and his fists clenched tightly.
He was prepared to give up, but now, an inexplicable battle spirit surged within him!
Looking at Lei Lei's expression, Qiao Sang scratched her nose sheepishly.
High schoolers are so gullible...
Once the pet beasts appeared, the ground shifted, revealing an artificial arena with a small water pond.
Calling it a pond might be too generous, it was essentially a pit filled with water. The deep blue material at the bottom made it look deceptively deep.
The pond occupied most of the arena, leaving limited maneuvering space on the ground.Normally, this terrain would severely hinder non-aquatic beasts.
However, with one ghost-type pet and one flying-type pet in play, neither needed to touch the ground.

In the audience, amidst the area where schools had gathered:
"Doesn't your school's vice principal hold an A-rank Breeder certification? Why not fatten up this scrawny Treasure-Seeking Demon? Look how puny it is!" Joked the coach from Chongzhou Beast Taming High.
Sun Boyi, long accustomed to the Treasure-Seeking Demon's unique form, glanced up at its round belly mid-air with a blank expression.
This... is scrawny?
The coach assumed his silence was agreement and felt a bit smug.
He had watched Qiao Sang's match footage and analyzed their school's chances. Knowing victory was unlikely, he took solace in small verbal jabs.
Suddenly, a voice chimed in from behind:
"Even if it's this scrawny, it still beats your team. Imagine if it were normal-sized, you'd lose even worse!"
The Chongzhou coach spun around angrily. Who dares say this?!
But upon turning, he quickly plastered on a smile.
"Ah, Principal! What a surprise to see you here!"
Sun Boyi was equally shocked.
"Principal Wang! Why didn’t you tell us you were coming?"
Wang Weidou, the principal of Shengshui High, adjusted his tone and replied smoothly:
"The National Campus Beast Mastering League is an annual event. No matter how busy I am, I must come."
To watch Qiao Sang, no doubt. Sun Boyi internally rolled his eyes but didn’t expose him.
Meanwhile, the Chongzhou coach, touched by Wang's apparent dedication, thought:
No wonder Shengshui High dominates Hanggang City. Their principal genuinely prioritizes his students!

While they chatted, the match began.
Lei Lei's Wind Hawk initiated the attack, darting at an almost imperceptible speed toward the Little Treasure, feinting left and right.
Just as it was about to strike, Little Treasure grinned and vanished.
Normally, a ghost-type beast could still be hit even when invisible, as long as the attack landed in its position.
But Wind Hawk missed entirely.
This meant the Treasure-Seeking Demon not only turned invisible but also relocated instantly.
Its reaction speed is insane. What a tricky opponent... Lei Lei's heart sank.
Before he could issue another command, ribbons of black shadows materialized mid-air, whipping toward Wind Hawk.
"Attack where the shadows are!" Lei Lei's battle instincts kicked in.
Wind Hawk flared its wings, diving toward the incoming shadows instead of dodging. It weaved through the dark tendrils with astonishing agility, its body glowing faintly with green light as its speed soared even further. R̃ÁꞐȱᛒΕṦ
The audience gasped.
"Wind Hawk lives up to its name, this speed is incredible!"
"This must be Brave Bird Strike. If it hits, the match is over!"
The crowd marveled as Wind Hawk hurtled toward the Treasure-Seeking Demon’s position.
"Uncle, what are those creepy black things?" A curious spectator asked.
"Shadow Control." A young man replied.
"What does it do?"
"Controls the opponent. Only advanced pets can typically learn this move."
The uncle gasped.
"That tiny thing is an advanced pet?!"
"No, it’s only mid-level." The young man’s eyes gleamed.
A mid-level pet with an advanced skill... There's no way it loses!
---
In the arena, Wind Hawk became a blur of green light, closing in on the Little Treasure.
Qiao Sang calmly issued a command.
"Form a net."
"Xun~"
Little Treasure reappeared, crossing hiss shadow-controlling claws.
The dark ribbons converged, weaving into a dense, shadowy net that blocked Wind Hawk's path.
"Evade it!" Lei Lei shouted, his heart pounding.
But it was too late.
Wind Hawk slammed into the shadowy net, which stretched under the impact but held firm, forming a faint silhouette of the trapped bird.
"Wind screech!"
The crowd watched as the resilient net folded around Wind Hawk, containing its struggles.
On the other side of the net, Little Treasure cackled mischievously.
But then, his expression shifted.
"Xun!”
The trapped Wind Hawk was heavy!
Below, the water of the pond loomed closer.
Little Treasure released the net just as it touched the water’s surface, letting it, and Wind Hawk, fall in.
“Xun...xun...”
Breathing heavily, Little Treasure patted his chest in relief.
So scary... I almost fell too!
For a moment, the arena was silent.
Then, someone in the audience muttered:
"This... this is what you'd call falling into the trap, right?"
