The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1331: Offending Dravitar

Meanwhile, the battle with the horde of mutated animals was gradually coming to an end.

Evelyn's leadership as she divided the forces and also placed the citizens tactfully to avoid being dragged into the battle, if the mutated animals were able to break through the walls, though it was highly unlikely, led the city's defenses intact.

It could be seen that the barrier was nearing its complete recovery.

Once the city's barrier was up, the mutated animals would have no chance once again.

Considering that the barrier grew stronger, with the increase in the world's energy level, it would take a tenth-rank realm mutated animal to pierce through the barrier. Since the city doesn't have anything enticing enough to attract tenth-rank realm beasts, it was safe.

None of the mutated animals participating in this horde is strong enough to be a threat.

Likewise, Rex and Adhara did exceptionally.

Both of them were able to take care of the countless mutated animals on their side.

All the flying mutated animals were dealt with by them since the city was exposed.

All the flying mutated animals were swiftly eradicated.

Since the city's barrier faltered, it opened up a weak spot from above.

Because of that, Rex and Adhara needed to step in.

It would be bad if any of the flying mutated animals reached the city.

Rex had killed so many mutated animals in this battle that he almost reached level 100.

Knowing that there were milestones, the System prepared for him—reaching level 100 would most certainly give him benefits. He hoped that it would be another ascension trial or even a free ticket to purchase anything from the System.

It would be nice if I could purchase the information regarding Chaos and the Fourthborn.

Perhaps even information about the First Human Emperor.

Rex needed the first one—because that would be his next upcoming threat, to battle the big brother of the Fifthborn. On the other hand, the latter was more for his curiosity—he wanted to know what made the First Human Emperor forsake peace.

He was aspiring to achieve peace so learning about the reason might be useful.

At least, to help him avoid making the same mistakes.

But then again, that is if the System is generous enough.

Gazing ahead, Rex watched as the rest of the mutated animals escaped, their tails tucked.

Realizing that there was no chance, the situation finally clicked in their minds.

Forcing their way through would be the death of them.

"It's over... your blunder created this mess" Adhara descended, shaking her head.

Rex crossed his arms in response, "If the price of gaining my third King Mark—is confronting this horde of mutated animals—I would do it over and over again. None of them managed to reach out city,"

For once, Adhara agreed as the city didn't seem to suffer much.

Casualties are probably there but in the grand scheme of things, this is a good trade-off.

"You should treat the fallen ones better, this is the first time the city actually got attacked"

"I already thought of it, I'll compensate the associated families"

Just as he said that, however, his eyes widened at the sight of a notification.

<Warning! A powerful attack is heading towards the user!>

Not expecting this turn, Rex quickly leaped skywards and stood on a red force platform.

He gazed in a direction with an evident frown on his face.

"What's wrong? Is the horde not over?"

"No... this is something worse"

Squinting his eyes, Rex gazed into the far horizon and saw a pair of eyes staring back at him.

A shiver ran down his spine when he saw the creature that gazed at him intently.

"Did it get attracted to the commotion? Then again, how far is it?" He mused in utter shock.

Upon hearing his words and seeing his expression, Adhara instantly knows what's going on.

In this new world, there's only one creature that Adhara knew could make Rex look like this.

Dravitar the Heaven's Drake.

Rex was exhausted from casting the Primordial Step skill, repeatedly—but the Nectar Blood passive skill regenerated his stamina rapidly, he was recovering his lost strength rapidly yet even then, he was still not a match for Dravitar.

CRACK!!

Out of nowhere, a deafening crack shattered the silence, snapping them back to reality.

A bolt of lightning erupted from the ground, surging upward, its tendrils spreading across the sky like tree roots. In a blink, these crackling branches coiled together, twisting in a spiral like a serpentine dragon.

Seeing this, Rex's eyes widened in shock as his hair could feel the static rising in the air.

He is a Lightning Elementalist, he is sensitive to any lightning.

Despite being immune to lighting, Rex could feel that this lightning would pierce through him.

In a flash, the lightning, swift and deadly, shot toward him, striking with the speed of a viper.

Rex could feel time seemed to slow around him as the strike closed in.

Sensing the palpable danger coming from this lightning, Rex was able to react in time.

He pushed Adhara away, pulled his cloak to cover him, and also enhanced it with red force.

All of that was done in a fraction of a second as the lighting was extremely fast.

BLITZ!!

Initially, the lightning dragon looked tiny on the horizon but when it reached and struck Rex, it turned out to be taking the size of an entire building. It was more like a beam—due to how big it was, enveloping Rex's entire body in an instant.

"REX!" Adhara screamed.

She saw Rex was struck and when the lightning strike passed, he was not on his spot.

Rex was dragged by the lightning strike hard, moving at a blinding speed.

Despite being able to react in time, and using his Royal Black Cloak, as a shield, enhanced by his red force as well as the Honey Moon Pendant boost, the searing energy was able to seep through and burn his skin.

I thought the Honey Moon Pendant boost was able to block an attack in an interval!

Does this attack surpass me that much that it bypassed that effect?!

Rex was in turmoil inside, gritting his teeth hard to persevere and endure this attack.

He wanted to slide his body out of the way but it was impossible to do.

All of the lightning energy that concentrated on him locked him in place.

Kaboom!

Upon reaching a far enough distance, the lighting strike exploded—sending Rex crashing like a meteor. He crashed through three mountains in a flash before he crashed against the earth—coughing blood hard a couple of times.

He groaned in pain, his bones felt like they shattered from the impact.

Recovering from the impact, Rex climbed out of the big crater before vomiting more blood.

<Warning: the user is in a critical condition!>

Ignoring the notification, Rex panted heavily and took a look around.

"Where am I...?" He mused, seeing an entirely unfamiliar place.

Seems like he was blown so far that even the terrain changed, he was now on a tall cliff, with a beach behind him, "How fast was that attack...? I reckoned that we are at least fifty or even more miles apart and yet that lightning strike struck me in an instant!"

Considering the distance, Rex didn't expect the lightning strike to reach him that fast.

His perception almost got speed-blitzed by that attack.

Had Dravitar been closer, there was no doubt that he wouldn't be able to react to that attack.

Glancing at his cloak, he found that half—of it was completely torn but fortunately, the Royal Black Cloak has the ability of self-healing. It was healing visibly—the cloak turned to be very useful for Rex.

Checking his body, his skin was also scorched black.

As expected, the lightning from the attack was able to pierce his immunity to lightning.

Something that nobody could achieve before.

"If I hadn't gotten the Honey Moon King mark, I wouldn't be able to heal from this properly. It was very useful, and convenient unlike the Goddess behind it," Rex pondered aloud, praising the Honey Moon's prowess.

Just then, static blitzed past his ears, prompting him to raise his gaze again.

He then saw that the attack was not done.

Forcing himself to stand—Rex bought the Beast Protection rune from the System's shop, and engraved it on the Royal Black Cloak. It would enhance it—so that energy attacks from those considered mutated animals were less effective.

Blitz!

But as he did that, the attack came faster and the process of branding the rune needed time.

Casting another ability belonging to the Royal Black Cloak, a banished clone materialized—it took the form of a spectral shadow, made entirely of the Banished Dark Moon kingly energy, dashing ahead and using its body to take the attack.

It took the entirety of the second lightning strike, being electrocuted for five good seconds.

Only then did the lightning strike explode, blasting the banished cloak alongside it.

Not even given any time to think, three lightning strikes slithered out of the smoke from three different directions, and whipped at Rex with extreme speed. Rex was ready for this, his King Mark glowed with three different kingly energies.

Rex felt more strain than normal from his King Mark due to the new additional kingly energy.

His body was still not used to using three kingly energies at the same time.

But even then, he forced himself as this was a matter of life and death.

Swoosh!

One of the lightning strikes thrust toward Rex like a sharp tip of a spear.

However, instead of hitting Rex directly, the 'Rex' who was hit dissipated into nothing.

Rex reappeared a couple hundred meters to the right, this was his new Primordial Step skill.

Other than making it less hard to use—with his new enhanced mastery, the skill also became stronger, leaving behind an afterimage that lasted until it was struck by a proper attack while keeping Rex's presence light to the senses until the afterimage was struck.

Despite managing to dodge the first one, the other two lightning strikes turned at him.

Like the head of a Hydra, these two lightning strikes split into dozens of smaller ones.

Seeing this, Rex decided to take them on.

He punched the space in front of him, firing the Brutal Impulse skill at the lightning strikes— before him. In the next instant, his eyes darted to the right, and he elongated his claws, and danced, blocking and parrying the other lightning strikes.

Unlike the initial one, these ones were way weaker.

Rex was able to block them despite leaving behind a numbing sensation on his claws.

Even coupled with the protection from his cloak, there are some that managed to go through.

His defense was immaculate and yet, it was overwhelmed by sheer speed.

Thank you Honey Moon Goddess, this wasn't possible without your help.

Many might think that his position was difficult, being attacked relentlessly like this—but Rex was smiling inside. He could feel that Dravitar's presence was suppressing him hard when he first laid his eyes on it.

So to think that he was able to clash against its attacks like this was a great progression.

He was making his way slowly toward the tenth-rank realm.

All Rex awaited was the notification confirming he had completed the requirements, for the Race Evolution Quest. Reaching Dravitar's peak power wasn't necessary, he only needed to tap into the tenth-rank realm.

Once his race evolved once again, Dravitar would bow before him.

Moreover, the Fourthborn would also be awakening to his death.

Crash!

Meanwhile, back to Dargena City.

As Rex was surviving Dravitar's attack, provoked by the display of power that had taken over its sky arrogantly earlier—the people could be seen watching what was happening—from the area near the castle's hill.

It was chaotic tonight but they believed the Emperor would protect them without fail.

Just then, however, a scream resounded from within them.

Pivoting their attention towards the scream, everyone saw a pale man stabbing a woman.

He held a knife that pierced through the woman's abdomen cleanly.

Linthia, who came to check on the people came rushing when she heard the scream.

But when confronted with the sight, she was stunned in confusion.
