Contrary to Nolan's attitude when he heard Kyran's message from Kairos, he proactively gathered the necessary items and people that would assist in creating a gate leading to the Higher Realm.
Kyran did not send any array calculations for the gate's creation when he asked Kairos to deliver his message. He did not have to. The warp-like array that he, along with Cade, and several other Array Specialists from the Conclave, Regis Clan, and Royal Family drafted to find the missing people from the empire, especially their Emperor, would be enough as their base formation.
They would have to change and improve several of the array's calculations but with it as the base, Nolan and Cade could succeed in creating the gate.
From other's perspectives, it was touching how much faith Kyran had in his father and uncle that they would succeed in creating the gate. nøvel.coɱ
Nolan, however, screamed: Bullsh*t.
To hell with faith, Kyran was asking for the impossible. Even with Cade's and Nolan's Array Knowledge, they could not possibly breach the gap between the Lower Realm and the Higher Realm. Even if they asked Loar, the Sovereign of Automa, who was also an Array Saint, it would still be close to impossible.
Nevertheless, Nolan still prepared everything.
Since time flowed differently in each plane, and the Human plane's time was the closest to the Higher Realm, Nolan appeared to have only been gone for a day but outside, he had been running around the Lower Realm, searching for materials for almost two weeks.
By the time he returned to the Human plane, Cade had returned and met with everyone who would assist in creating the gate.
Because the gate had to be created in the Regis Terram, Nolan could not ask the Conclave and the Royal Family to lend them their Array Specialists. Only members from the Regis Family could enter the Regis Terram, after all.Nolan was not a Regis, but as a Sovereign, he had enough qualifications. Not to mention, he was still considered part of the Regis as a clan member.
"And?" Nolan growled as he looked to his left. "Why the h*ll are you here?"
Rin gave him a blank look as she replied with a calm voice, "Is that how you should speak to your twin sister, after not showing your face for several months?"
Nolan snorted in response.
After Kyran left the Human plane, Nolan eventually mustered up the courage to meet Rin face to face. He acted aloof and sometimes even rude, but Rin knew it was on purpose. He was not acting like that because of embarrassment but because being the Human plane's Sovereign was such a troublesome thing.
She knew he could not show any preferential attitude and treatment to anyone in the Human plane, otherwise, it would trigger another plane-changing event.
Regardless, Rin responded to Nolan's aloofness in her own way, and because of that, anyone who saw them or heard them would think they were two strange adults for acting like kids.
"I don't have any obligation to show my face to you."
"Of course," Rin agreed with a nod. "Since you are so~ busy being the Human plane's Sovereign."
"Busy my ass," Anette snorted as she glared at Nolan from his other side. "I'm sure he is just frolicking around."
"I don't frolic," Nolan replied with a slight growl.
The Regis Family's Array Specialists and Masters watched the three from behind with wry smiles. Most of them knew Nolan when he was still a trainee together with the next patriarch Cade and had truly not grasped the concept of him becoming the Human plane's most powerful existence.
Several years had already passed since they learned about Nolan's ascension but they still see him as their Mistress, Rin's troublemaker twin brother.
"Cade is late," Nolan added while looking at the rest of the Regis members behind them.
Every one who would be assisting in the gate's creation was gathered near the Regis Terrram's entrance. Continue your adventure at m|v-l'e -.net
Anette was also not a member of the Regis Family. However, the ability she received from the Tower of Tribulations after conquering it, seemed to work on the Regis Terram as well.
For the record, the ability Anette received allowed her to live and adapt accordingly to the plane she went to. This was how she managed to leave her plane of origin and escape her fate to live in the Human plane.
As for Rin, obviously, after becoming Cade's wife, she was recognized as a member of the Regis Family. In fact, if Cyneah was there, chances of her entering the Regis Terram were also high because she had been marked by Kyran and possessed something that was only given to a Regis Family— the Regis Family's crest, which Kyran modified and was now used by Cyneah as a necklace.
"We are just early," Anette snorted in defense of Cade. "Actually, you are too early. Are you that excited to accomplish your nephew's request?"
"Who's excited?" Nolan grumbled as he looked at her. "I am early because I can't f*cking sleep whenever I think about that b*stard's request!"
"He is not a b*stard," Rin glared at him. "Did you forget I was already married to Cade for a whole year before he was even conceived!"
It appeared Kyran's concievement was a sore spot for Rin because she flared up at the memory.
No one could blame her.
That event was also considered the only regret Cade had. Not because he regretted having Kyran, but because he allowed Rin to make the first move.
However, Cade had a reason for not touching Rin. He was convinced that the prophecy about her and her child would not happen as long as he abstained from any intimate contact with her.
Eventually, Rin found what Cade tried to do, and was infuriated. In fact, she was convinced he did not want her because she forced him to marry her.
Ultimately, the prophecy ended up happening and now the scale seemed to have reached the Higher Realm.
"How dare you call your own nephew a b*stard!" Rin growled at Nolan, her eyes which usually shone with gentleness and warmth now emitted intense blue flames.
Nolan instinctively flinched after seeing Rin's eyes and the rising pressure. He hastily said, "I-I didn't mean it like that— i-it's just an expression—."
"Expression? So you're actually calling your own nephew a despicable person?"
"N-No— I—!"
Nolan mumbled some jibberish words, trying to explain his side. While doing so, he could almost imagine Kairos' gentle smile as he looked down at him, saying:
"See? You can't win against Rin."
"Ha... I feel bad for my godson. He probably cut off his tongue after biting it so many times because of the people who missed him like crazy and just could not stop talking about him," Anette sighed heavily as she tried to zone out the twin brother and sister's squabbling in the background. Apparently, she was convinced the two were only acting that way because they missed Kyran.
The Regis members were faster. They had already zoned them out even before they started.
If other Sovereigns knew how the Human plane's inhabitants treated their Sovereign, they would likely have flipped.
Even if the inhabitants were the Sovereign's family, he or she should have enough dignity and influence to ensure they would not be treated the same as before they ascended.
But apparently, Nolan's family and close friends did not care about any dignity or influence he had— not that he had many, or any at all. It appeared that they did not want to treat him differently just because he became the plane's Sovereign.
Whether that was a good thing, or bad, Nolan was the only one who could truly say.
"I think it is amusing how Rin is angry about Nolan calling Kyran a b*stard and yet, she is also doing the same, albeit just to make a point."
A deep voice, filled with amusement spoke behind Anette.
Anette chuckled as she turned to look at Cade, "Should you be saying that? You are his father. Ah, and you also called him b*stard."
Cade chuckled, "So did you."
It appeared the b*stard's meaning had changed for everyone present there because of today's incident.
"Alright," Cade's voice sounded like thunder as he addressed everyone around him. "Let's go through the plan for the formation before going inside."
Rin and Nolan also stopped their nonsensical squabble as they looked at Cade.
"Yes, Master Cade," the Regis Array Specialists and Masters replied in unison.
'G*dd*mn it, Cade. You arrived late on purpose didn't you?' Nolan, on the other hand, immediately sent a telepathic message to Cade.
Cade simply chuckled and waved his hand, creating a long table to their side. He then took out several blueprints and rare materials from the Regis's Treasury and laid them on the table.
Nolan did the same. He took out the gathered materials and laid them on the table along with the others.
"All materials required to complete the formulas on the blueprints are here," Cade started. "However, just like the warp array we created, expect changes to happen along the way. Some of the materials here may be rendered useless, or we'll need an entirely different one. When that happens, I want each of you to be ready to leave at short notice and gather the necessary materials."
"Yes."
Though Cade told them to be ready to gather the items themselves, the rest of the Regis teams would surely be there to assist them. However, because they were the Array experts, they needed to be there to ensure the quality of the items.
"Let's start."
