Cyneah's assumption was correct.
The Four Greatest Minds of the Ancient Clan indeed used samples of real Ancient Magic Cores during the initial phase of their research. Shaiha did not know whose Ancient Magic Cores they were, but they were definitely from prominent figures, and the one who supplied them was the Higher Being.
Yet, even the Higher Being had its limits. It could only assist in procuring samples that were within his reach. Alas, there was no Void Core sample to be found.
But that was unimportant at the moment. From what Cyneah was saying, she believed that the sample of the Draconic Core might contain an essence. When the Four Greatest Minds succeeded in their research, the artificial Draconic Core inherited it.
A part of Shaiha thought Cyneah was on to something, but another part thought it was impossible. Honestly, she was the closest to the Higher Being but still did not know where the latter got samples of the Draconic, Soul, and Time Cores. All she knew was that he got them after visiting a faraway plane.
The Higher Being and Shaiha should have a connection akin to the one she shared with Kyran since he was The Realm's ruler. Unfortunately, he could not truly become Shaiha's master because he did not possess Ancient Magic. The Higher Being did not know of that, and Shaiha had no plans to tell him in fear that he would covet the Four Greatest Mind's research.
Alas, true to an ancient saying, certain things were never meant to go according to one's plans.
Pushing the memory of what happened in the past, Shaiha lightly shook her head before looking at Cyneah.
"So you believe that certain conditions must be met before the seal can be released? Kyran using the Void Domain is only a part of it."
"Maybe... I don't know. What do you think?""It is certainly worth considering. However, you are not fully aware of what the Ancient Magic Cores are. You only know that they are artificially made, but there is history behind them."
"Then tell me. If I have a better understanding of the history behind them, maybe I can..." Cyneah's voice trailed off as she realized that there was nothing that she could do, even if she were to know their truth. At the end of the day, the only thing connecting her to the Ancient Magic Cores was her body constitution.
"You know full well that you can't do anything at this point. Kyran is the only one who can help himself because he is the one who possesses the Draconic Core. You can only use your healing magic and alleviate his suffering, but since you are still covered by the Void Domain, then..."
Cyneah frowned, "I know that. Honestly, I am mad at Kyran's stubbornness."
Shaiha only smiled wryly in response. Then again, Cyneah could not see her expression. Not that it mattered. In any case, she agreed that Kyran could be annoyingly stubborn in his own way. However, Cyneah was the same. If she were not, he would not have stubbornly retained the Void Domain's effect around her.
Alas, Kyran picked the wrong time to be stubborn because they could really use Cyneah's healing to lower his temperature, at least.
"We can only wait for Lady Ames at this point," Shaiha said after a brief moment of silence. "Rest, eat, and then sleep. I will let you know if Kyran's condition took a turn for the worse."
"... Your words are not reassuring."
"I'm sure you'd rather I be honest than say otherwise."
"...Yes. You are right."
After the two finally agreed to wait for Ames's return, Cyneah rested as advised while Shaiha monitored Kyran's condition.
It took Ames an hour before arriving at the Main Palace of the Dragon Clan. She could have gotten there faster using a transportation array. Unfortunately, there was not one available near the villa where the Regis Family were staying. In the end, she had to travel to the nearest fort, which was five hours away from the villa, where there was a transportation array available. ɽΆƝŐβËś
Though the fort was five hours away from the villa, with Ames's speed, it only took her less than half an hour to get there. However, because she did not inform the fort's Governor of her arrival and purpose, it took more than half an hour to deal with the formalities and prepare the array.
By the time Ames arrived at the Main Palace, however, the Dragon Emperor was already waiting for her inside the Throne Room. This was because the Governor of the fort had already informed him of Ames's visit.
Initially, the Dragon Emperor was a little annoyed that his daughter did not send him a message directly. She did have a means to send him an urgent message. However, his annoyance disappeared in an instant when he thought of a possible reason his daughter did not send him a direct message.
Ames entered the Throne Room and immediately noticed her father looking at her while sitting on his throne, which was carved from diamonds with intricate silver and gold designs. She also noticed that the aides who normally stayed inside the room were nowhere to be seen. She did not mind that. In fact, she was glad her father was alone.
"Father."
"Make it brief."
Ames was slightly taken aback by her father's reaction. At first, she thought he might still be annoyed that she chose to stay with her other family rather than return to the Main Palace. But upon seeing her father's solemn expression, she realized that he might have already gleaned something about the reason for her sudden visit from her refusal to send a direct message.
Thus, when her father told her to make it brief, it was not because he did not care. Rather, he knew the matter was very important, and he wanted her not to beat around the bush.
"Kyran seems to be suffering from a reaction."
Ames's words sounded vague to anyone who heard her. But from the stern gaze that replaced the Dragon Emperor's solemn gaze, he seemed to understand what she meant.
Instead of answering her, the Dragon Emperor remained silent. His gaze fixed on Ames.
Ames was not intimidated, however, because she knew her father was recalling what transpired earlier that caused the reaction.
"Is it when he used his Domain?"
"Sisi thinks it is. I'm not sure at first but given the location..."
"His Domain should not have been able to reach that place."
"Linearly no, but parallelly..."
The Dragon Emperor closed his eyes and sighed heavily.
"Is the range of his Domain that huge? At most, it should not have been able to reach there even if what you said is true."
"The range, no, but making contact with the border's seal is possible."
Silence ensued inside the Throne Room once more.
After a moment's pause, the Dragon Emperor grunted begrudgingly, "Such a handful descendant that human."
Ames remained silent, but inwardly, she was elated. Her feelings might be off-putting, given the dire situation Kyran was in, but she was happy to hear her father acknowledged the latter as her descendant. Because this meant, he already accepted the fact that Kyran was also Zane's descendant and successor.
In any case, the place that they referred to was the tomb of the most feared Dragon Emperor in the Dragon Clan's history: the Harbringer of Chaos, Coelus.
Coelus was also known as the first dragon and was said to have sired the other dragons by using Chaos magic. He was also said to be cruel and psychotic because he made it so that all his children were always at war.
It was unknown how Coelus died. In fact, none of the dragons believed he was truly dead because his corpse remained intact even after several hundreds of thousands of years.
When the Dragon Emperor, Aillos, found him before the Dragon Tribes united, he initially thought Coelus was only sleeping. However, he confirmed that the latter's Draconic Core was no longer active, which was why he was convinced that he was already dead.
Nevertheless, the magic energy Coelus's body emitted was so potent that he could still bring about Chaos to the land where he was resting. In the end, Aillos asked the Ancients for assistance in creating a powerful tomb that could also seal Coelus's potent magic energy.
The King of the Ancients warned Aillos that Coelus's Draconic Core might already be inactive, but if it came across a dragon whose wavelength resonated with him, then it was likely that he would either devour that dragon or the latter would devour Coelus, becoming a second Harbinger of Chaos.
Aillos took the King of the Ancients' advice to heart, which was why he made the tomb buried deeply within the Dragon Plane's core when they created it. Besides that, only a few elder dragons and his aides knew about the tomb's existence.
But if any of them discovered that the tomb's seal might have been breached, and someone showed a reaction, it might result in a rift within the Dragon Clan. After all, Aillos only succeeded in uniting all tribes because he promised that the threat of Coelus's influence would never haunt them again.
However, with his seal getting breached, the threat of Coelus's influence and another war between the dragons might happen again.
This was why Ames preferred to talk to her father alone. She did not want to cause unnecessary worry. They had yet to confirm what was happening to Kyran, but if they were correct, she believed he would overcome Coelus's.
"Have him transferred here immediately. I will prepare a room where we can monitor his condition. Make the necessary preparations on your end as well. I will also gather a small group to check the tomb's seal."

"If you do that, the others might realize something is up."
Aillos sighed, "I know. But finding out the condition of the tomb's seal takes precedence."
"I have a suggestion."
"Speak."
"Leave the tomb's exploration to me. The Regis Family's Array Knowledge does not fall behind ours. They may even possess greater knowledge since they discovered some of the Ancients' teachings in the Human plane."
"Hm..." Aillos leaned back on his chair while considering Ames's suggestion.
"Besides, the others do not really care what they do because, in their eyes, they are weak humans from the Lower Realm."
"..."
Aillos frowned at Ames's argument. However, he could not refute it because what she said was right. He had warned the others about their treatment with the Regis Family, and their treatment of them did improve. Nevertheless, they still considered them outsiders and weak.
"Very well. I'll support them in everything."
"Thank you, Father."
