The colossal entity was large enough to fill the bottomless abyss. The leaves would be large enough to blot out the sky, if it still had any. The branches were the size of mountain ranges.

Unfortunately, it seemed to be alive, scorched from top to bottom. This would be the lone tree survivor in a forest inflicted by fire.

The leaves and twigs were burnt to ashes, and the bark became as black as charcoal. Now, it looked like black metal, seemingly unbreakable.

Embers still flashed red in certain areas, always ready to ignite again. Therefore, standing close to the abyss gave the impression of being near the mouth of a dangerous volcano.

“What is this thing?” Everyone shared the same question since this was unprecedented to them.

“Look, there is one leaf left!” A sharp-eyed cultivator shouted.

Everyone followed his direction and saw a budding leaf brimming with life. Once people got closer, they immediately felt refreshing, cool waves - a stark contrast to the heat from the dormant “charcoal”.

The cool breezes were filled with majestic life force, no different from a boundless ocean. Due to the size of the tree, this blooming leaf was still massive and stretched thousands of miles.

The veins looked like mountain ranges situated in a green ocean. It wouldn’t be inconceivable to start sects and kingdoms here.

“Spring is returning to this tree?” One cultivator said.

Everyone could tell the tree had been burnt by a special flame. They had no idea what type of flame inflicted this much damage on the divine tree. It was either dead or holding on by a thread.

Nevertheless, the budding leaf gave a hopeful impression. Despite being ravaged by internal flames, it still gave birth to a leaf. Therefore, it must still be alive and could always recover.

“I can’t fathom which flame did this.” An ancestor murmured while gazing below. This tree must have possessed incredible abilities and power.

“Imperial flames can’t kill it.” A big shot said.

“Imperial flames? An emperor can go all out and can’t burn a single twig, let alone this whole tree. A primal ancestor can’t do it either.” A mighty ancestor added.

“Only the flames of a tribulation.” A wise cultivator speculated: “Nothing cultivated can hurt it.”

Everyone fell into silence. All cultivators feared tribulations the most, both emperors and primal ancestors alike. Even supreme overlords on the verge of becoming immortals could still die to them.

The stronger the participant, the stronger the tribulation. This most likely applied to this tree as well.

“I agree, tribulation flames did this.” This became the crowd’s consensus.

“If it has a budding leaf, it might return to life.” A sacred ancestor said.

“Yes, seems that way.” Many nodded in agreement.

“This has to be due to the worldly energy. It’s growing on an earth vein, there’s enough energy to revive it.” Someone confidently said.

Everyone looked over and saw a tall and muscular old man.

“Bronze-blade Ancestor.” Many bowed to show respect after seeing him.

The pseudo-emperor humbly returned the gesture.

“So in other words, the source of the vein is right below.” A woman added, having one pretty side and one ugly side.

“Coldblade.” Others were surprised to see her.
